What age do you accept children?
Kindertown Child Care accepts children from the age of 16 months to 12 years. The centre is licensed for a total of 97children. The child to teacher ratio is as follows:
The Centre is approved for 2/3 ratios for the first two hours and the last two hours of each day.
How do I enrol?
You may call the centre and book a tour Monday to Friday before 10 am or after 3:30 pm. We encourage you bring your child to meet the teachers and tour the facility.
Once a decision is made a deposit or retainer will be required to secure a space equal to two weeks fees. The enrolment forms must be completed and returned before the child starts in the program. The forms are designed to include all of the information required by the Ministry of Community & Social Services and the Public Health Department. The forms must include all family members that are authorized to pick up your child and may be cross refrenced at a later date.
Can I visit before my child’s start date?
Once a start date is confirmed, all families are encouraged to visit with their child prior to the actual start date. These visits allow the child to get comfortable with the staff and facility. Visits are recommended to be conducted close to actual start dates and can be arranged by calling the centre to arrange a date and time that is suitable for both parents and the centre.
Is Food Provided?
The daycare provides a hot lunch and two snacks daily for children. Our menu is based on the Canada Food Guide and is posted daily. Kindertown also has a culinary chef preparing all food on-site. Our vegetable and herb garden also provide fresh vegetables every summer which the children help groom and eat.
When are you open?
The day care is open from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. Children can attend up to nine hours daily.
The daycare is closed on the following days:
Moving to another age group or fee Decrease
Children will automatically move from one age group to the next based on the following:
If a child may be old enough to move to the next age grouping, fees remain the same until there is a space for them and they move. The decision to move a child up to the next age group is made by the Executive Director and Program Supervisor in consultation with teachers and parents/caregivers. Once a child is scheduled to move to the next group the parent/caregiver will be notified of the move date and any fee changes. During the weeks prior to the move date, the child will visit his/her new group for a portion of the day to ensure a smooth transition.
